LifeSource Church given in principle approval for new Christian school in Griffith, 2018 start likely

It is with great pleasure that we announce to you the birthing of a new CRC school opening in conjunction with turningpoint Church (Cranbourne CRC) and LifeSource Church (Griffith CRC).

This will bring in a new perspective to the education sector of Griffith. In February 2018 LifeSource Church will be opening Verity Christian College (VCC) which will be a Christian Primary School operating from the LifeSource Church premises at 2786 Stafford Road, Griffith.

For over ten years now the leadership and members of LifeSource Church have had a dream to offer the people of Griffith another option for the education of their children. Our school will be established as a discipleship school with a focus on faith, learning and leading. In the set up stages VCC will partner with Lighthouse Christian College Cranbourne (LCCC) (part of turningpoint Church Cranbourne). LCCC currently offers a Prep to Year 12 School with around 890 students. Partnering with LCCC will give confidence that VCC will succeed in our long term vision to offer K-12 Christian schooling in Griffith.

Until now, options for Christian families in Griffith to receive quality faith based education have been limited to the Catholic School system. Now, for the community of Griffith, there will be a Protestant/Pentecostal Christian school preparing “divinely appointed and united generations who honour truth, inspire faith, impart hope and express love as leaders of their community.”

A site visit was undertaken at LifeSource Church 2786 Stafford Road by two representatives from NESA (NSW Education Department) on Friday the 26th of May with a report being prepared to go before the Minister of Education’s office. Approval for a Change of Use for LifeSource Church was granted by Griffith City Council in late June in preparation for the school start. The next step in the process has already begun with some minor works to the facility, seeking staff, continuing to write policies, sourcing of resources and seeking expressions of interest for enrolment from the community. This is an exciting time for Griffith as this news breaks.
