We feel we are entering a very exciting stage over these next few years where we will see growth, particularly in the planting of churches. This fits exactly into the theme of our National Conference, Revival.

‘Glorious’ State Conference

We really prayed that our guest speaker, Ps Philip Mantofa from Indonesia would impact us in the area of Evangelism. The State Conference was extremely successful and many commented on how they felt fired up ready to dream again.

In preparation for this conference there were prayer meetings held as we interceded for God to awaken us and rebirth in us a heart for the lost. The conference was attended by 160, and it was exciting to see so many young people attend.

I opened the conference with a prophetic message, entitled, Move. The Lord showed me tectonic plates that needed to move in order for a wave of souls to come into the kingdom. I mentioned that God might start to impress upon some of us a desire to move geographically or positionally.

City Central Church

Pastor Rod Gilchrist announced to his church on Sunday August 11th that he would be stepping down from the senior position at City Central Church. For the past four and a half years, he has endured ongoing chronic pain due to three collapsed discs. He has had two operations and undergoes a third on Tuesday September 10th. The previous operations have been unsuccessful in relieving the chronic pain and he is on constant pain medication. He feels he cannot ethically continue to remain as Senior Pastor when he is incapacitated. There is a transition period until January, where Pastor Geoff Hodgkinson (with his wife Sara), will take on the senior role. The leadership of CCC, Pastors Rod and Vicki and the church, have found this a bittersweet experience, however they are delighted at God’s hand in this and the generational blessing of seeing spiritual sons and daughters raised up and released to take City Central Church into the future.

Church plants

Mark and Caroline Warren moved from Narrandera in May this year and have started a church plant in Canberra. Their church is called, Momentum Canberra.

Samuel Wright will be moving to the Atherton Tablelands by the end of the year to church plant from the Cairns assembly.

Condo Camp

Our State youth camp was held this year in April at Condoblin, and over 200 young people attended. Once again it was a great success and the young people encountered God in a very powerful way. Many were baptised in the Holy Spirit.

Emerging Leaders Retreat

The Emerging Leaders Retreat was held Friday 16th and Saturday 17th August. Over 40 of our young leaders attended. Our speakers for the retreat were Ps Ian Miller, Ps David Wright and Ben Campbell.

It was a great time of connection and affirmation of the call of God on our young people’s lives.

The focus during this time was on initiating Spirit-Empowered Evangelism, with lots of discussion on how this strategy looks and can be out-worked. The practical outcome for the discussion was the decision to challenge them to join together to take Condo for Christ. In March 2014, we will hold a three day crusade from March 14th- 16th in Condobolin. We plan to get intercessors prayer walking the week before and then bring all our young leaders into Condobolin and door knock, pray for the sick and hold three night rallies in the town centre. This will then be followed up, the next month with the Condo camp. We are believing that this will be a start of other State Wide initiatives into other towns and cities.
