Tribute - Ron Bailey

20 Nov 2019

Pr Ron Bailey passed from this life into the presence of his Lord and Saviour on Saturday 28th September 2019, aged 91 years. His wife Joan had passed on 8 years previously.

Ron began pastoring in 1970 at Altona AOG. Some years later he became involved with CRC in Ballarat under the leadership of Ps Tony Smits. There he administered the Video Bible School (VBS) that Pr Tony had established. In time this became the State CRC Training Program. Pr Ron administered the training and for many years carefully marked the 100’s of student answer sheets.

In the mid 80’s Ron planted Wattle City Church, Marybourgh, as a church plant from Ballarat, under Pr Tony Smits.

Although living in Ballarat Ron travelled to Marybourgh each Sunday for WCC, and even until recent times he preached 2 or 3 times per year in Marybourgh where he always brought a fresh message. He was greatly loved in WCC and he loved the church so much.

In his late 80’s he went on 2 mission trips to Coober Pedy.

Ron was a quiet, gentile and very gracious person, but one who held firmly to Biblical convictions and could not be swayed from these. His love for the Lord and His word was clearly evident in his passion to serve Him faithfully to the end.

Well done good and faithful servant.

On behalf of all our CRC Pastors and Leaders we extend heartfelt condolences to Ron’s family including 2 daughters,  9 grandchildren, and 17 great grandchildren.
