The prayers and support of all the CRC Churches International goes out to you Gladys, your Family and all at Eastside Christian Centre with the recent passing of Don Cooley to be with his Lord.
Don was such a faithful man, who loved his Lord, was devoted to his wife and family and a committed member and elder of the Mt Gambier CRC church. Don loved people and the Mt Gambier community in which he lived and served for so many years. Don was a great representative of the congregation over the years at many CRC events and gatherings. He was always there as an active participant and an enthusiastic contributor by his presence and faith. Everyone will sorely miss him! When you thought ‘Mt Gambier CRC’, you always associated it with ‘Don Cooley’. This was not just a product of his longevity there, but also the outworking of a commitment to serving, zeal for the Lord and eagerness to be involved. Don personified the role of a layperson as an elder. As a stalwart of the church, he helped the Eastside congregation affect countless people across the years.
The heartfelt encouragement of CRC Churches International reaches out to you all at this time. Our movement is so grateful for Don who so deserves the accolade “well done good and faithful servant.” He personified the role of an Elder in the church, but more than that, he was a brother in the Lord, friend to many and committed husband and Father to his loved ones.
We will all miss Don, his twinkly eyes, his sincere enthusiastic greeting and his dedication to the cause of Christ! Don was the sort of man you just assumed would be always there, and in that sense be taken for granted, until as is now the case, he is no longer there. However, we know he is now in a far better place, rejoicing with the great cohort of believers, enjoying the presence of the Lord he so loved.
On behalf of all the CRC movement, our thoughts and prayers are with you.
Yours sincerely in Christ,
SA, WA, NT CRC Churches International.
